Abstract

The article analyzes the concept of cosmopolitan constitutionalism and how this concept suggests a cosmopolitan turn of constitutional legitimacy, which may inspire the Chilean constitutional process. Several strategies for including a cosmopolitan dimension in the new Chilean Constitution are proposed, incorporating provisions on the constitutional opening to International Human Rights Law, principles of foreign policy, international law principles, to reconceptualize the link between nationality and citizenship, an international consultation provision and the democratization of the procedure to adopt international treaties.
